If you know me, you know I love food terribly. Like, probably too much. My boyfriend can tell you about my many late-night food runs- childlike, impractical, often expensive, and usually unhealthy. It’s way too easy when you live in New York to say “oh, it’s 1AM? but I want X? Yes. I’m getting X.” It’s *maybe* my main reason for loving the city but since we’re in Texas for a few months, I’ve decided to cut myself a break and eat “healthy”.
My life philosophy is that if the last few weeks haven’t been a whirlwind, I’m probably not doing enough things. I also like to set mini-resolutions per month as I go, for example October: I’m getting back on the Keto train, I’m focusing 100% on my work until my Christmas holiday, and I’m taking MORE PHOTOS!!!! My sister and I hosted a Halloween meetup for our Lolita community last week and we had a lot of fun!
It’s been a long summer for sure and yet, it went by in a hot second! Bob and I are spending the fall season “homeless” in Texas, with plans to travel to California, Mexico, probably back to NYC, London??? and maybe even Taiwan again for a minute, so we decided “why have an apartment?” SO I’ve spent the last week or two slowly filling orders (I’m lucky and thankful) while also slowly filling in the shop with new items I came out with during this con season! How exciting!
One thing I’ve noticed that is starting to deeply disturb me is the ATROCIOUS LIGHTING in every artist alley ever. Like, I get it that we’re always in a convention center or hotel, this isn’t really like a shock but it’s starting to bother me. Whose prints look good in this lighting???? Look at me. I look like an alien who has just eaten the blood of an enemy (ie colourpop avenue ultra matte lipstick) (side note: do not recommend that lipstick)
I’m currently getting ready for AnimeFest (my last Artist Alley of the season, as of now) but I also just got back from Mechacon- seriously doing back-to-back conventions is insane. I’m running around like a chicken with its head cut off here trying to scramble together a whole convention’s worth of stock BUT I’LL MANAGE. In the meantime, have some Mechacon feels!
Wowwwww has it ever been a whirlwind! I got back a few days ago from AnimeNEXT, which I left for only a few days after getting back from A-kon 27! I do not recommend!! Actually I’m lying, it was cool to meet a few artists doing the same, and I would consider this sort of tight schedule again. It was awesome seeing what limits and expectations of myself I could push 😛 Sort of. It was also hell. Awesome self-inflicted hell.
